I’m not sure who took this photo or where I found it. I have a collection of cabin images that I find online that I like to swoon over from time to time.
This one in particular has me totally. I’m sucked in. It’s simplicity is breathtaking. I can hear the chirp of the robins, the buzz of insects and I can smell the fireplace and the stew slowly cooking away to it’s warm hearts content.
I’m a hopeless dreamer.
All I want to do is say thank you to who ever shared this with us so that I can dream.
fire cooking, winter fishing, no danger running out of propane… well played…
If you go to google images and click the camera in the search box, you can paste the image URL and it wil give you a list of places the image is hosted (basically a reverse image search) – that might help! Beautiful picture though :)
thats not a chimney, its the flue for a moonshine still!
You might need one of these to hole yourself up in to write the next book!!
I can see it now….
Ooooooooh yes. Fishing rod at the ready!
Now thats my kind of weekender! Maybe somewhere in British Columbia? Fresh fish off the lake, hearty venison stews from the local herd and some ice cold beers to wash it down!
If only!
Found it for ya. Has a pretty cool story with it also!

Wow that is brilliant. Make me like it even more with the added background story. Thanks a bunch Justin
You can find design ideas for trapper cabins in the terrific little book, How To Build Your Dream Cabin in the Woods, by J. Wayne Fears.
