We finished off a busy few days with a campfire out at the Graceview block with our friends Em and JB. On the menu was a slow cook shoulder of lamb, cooked in red wine. Yes it was delicious.

The late afternoon light had us all lost in our thoughts.

Luc, It’s almost here. With the crazy Spring weather this week, I can only imagine the goodness that is planned for us in the coming months. My direct seeded carrots have popped up. That’s always a good sign of better growing weather. When are you coming over to visit!!!
sometime soon, methinks! i keep looking at the secret asparagus patch and hoping, hoping…
likewise, we’ll get you over when the fruit’s all lush and ready to be picked…some time away yet, but, ya know…
beautyfull pics!
OH THE GIRLS!!! TOO CUTE!
did you cook that lamb shoulder on the fire? Nice play! I’ve got a new (to me) smoker that’s going to start flexing come fall. in the meantime, I’ll just enjoy these photos of the setting sun.
Yeah in the large cast iron camp out behind it. It’s a two-three hour cook depending on the temp of the coals. We use half a bottle of red wine in the mix too. We let the meat rest for 10-20 mins and it falls apart it’s that tender.
Good luck with the smoker. I have a little smoker and it gets used all the time, especially for salmon, trout and eel.
