Apparently Kale is the flavour of the month. It’s at all the cool restaurants, not that little old hermit me would know! I can’t even remember the last time I went to a restaurant for a dinner…..actually I was just informed, October 2010! Sad I know, but that issue aside, I’ve been informed that Kale has finally hit the scene. The hip culinary scene that I can’t relate to. I can’t watch master chef, yes it has it’s place for budding chef’s but not me. I can’t dig it for the pure reason that I think that it marries food with stress. Food is not supposed to be stressful it’s supposed to be good for the soul, thus I’d never make it as a chef. I cook, let’s leave it at that. Man do I dribble on! Isn’t this post supposed to be about Kale? People don’t want to hear your opinions on food TV!

Kale, it’s yummy. I grow Brown and Black Kale this time of year they get added to bean stews, pasta and fried. Not only do they taste nice and sharp but they look cool. Yesterday I mad a lunch pasta with cured ham, salami, wine, butter, stock, herbs and various other ingredients and a good handful of Kale. My first mini harvest for winter. There are many more Kale stories to come.

So if you want to hang out with the cool kids, grow Kale.
